Shu Uemura Stage Performer Block:Booster Protective Moisture Primer (Natural Beige)

Shu Uemura released a new primer last month and I knew I had to try it. I headed to the store and the ladies were nice enough to give me sample packs of the different colours to try. After trying it, I had to get a full size tube because it was so good. I actually went to a store and they told me it was sold out already. Thankfully I found it at another location. I purchased it in natural beige as I found that worked best for me. There is also pink and colorless, which I will also briefly talk about at the end.

This new Shu Uemura primer has an SPF of 50, PA+++ and comes in a 30ml tube. From the pamphlet I got at the store, this primer is supposed to enhance your natural beauty, block severe aggression and boost your skin for a less dull complexion. This product is made in Japan, and is available online, or at Shu Uemura stores or counters. Like most Shu Uemura products, the packaging is very clean and simple, but looks nice and is quite sturdy.

The product itself did not disappoint me one bit. Upon application my skin looked so fresh and I looked really awake. A lot of times I go out wearing only this primer, and nothing else. This primer completely evened out my skin tone and covered the redness below my eyes. It also does a spectacular job in blurring and covering my pores. After I applied this primer I could barely see any pores on my face. It does lighten spots, scars and acne but does not completely cover them. I really love this moisturizer because of how moisturizing it is. It does not cling to dry areas/spots, it covers them instead so you are left with smooth skin. It is not sticky at all, and makes applying BB cream or foundation a lot quicker and easier. Honestly, my skin was so smooth that my BB cream just glided on without any issues. The texture of this primer is a little thicker, similar to moisturizer. It is not watery, but it still applies easily. It is so lightweight, I do not even feel like I am wearing anything. People always compliment my skin when I use this product. There is a very light scent to the product, but it’s almost unnoticeable and does not bother me.

I do like the design of the tube as it is very easy to control how much product I squeeze out. It is good for travel and does not leak. Another plus is that there is no residue left in the cap or opening.

My thoughts on the other colours:

Pink– This one evens out my skin tone a bit but I found it was not as effective in covering pores. It also did not give my skin the healthy glow and feeling that the beige colour gave me. For pink coloured primers I would go with other brands I have tried instead.

Colourless– I found this to be the worst of the three. It provided no coverage and was not effective. My skin looked like I put nothing on it, it does not blur pores or cover spots at all.
